Interplanting flowers and herbs in vegetable garden can protect your vegetables from pests and even make the vegetables more productive. To make sure bees can find your vegetable plants, interplant flowers that come in shades of blue, yellow and white or have high nectar concentrations. Plants like cosmos, larkspur, mints, sweet peas, sunflowers, and zinnias attract pollinators. Parsley, dill, coriander, and flowers from the aster family are especially good for attracting beneficial insects.
