Th e first Hydrangea macrophylla that blooms on both old and new wood. Flowers virtually all season long and is hardy to zone 4. Endless Summer® will produce magnificent pink to grape to blue blooms depending on the pH of your soil. Alkaline - pH 6-7 will produce pink blooms. Acidic soil - pH 5-5.8 will produce blue ones. For blue add aluminum sulfate to the soil.

Most mophead hydrangeas set (grow) their bloom buds in August, Sept. and October like azaleas. If anything happens to these buds between the time they are set and the next summer (such as improper pruning or bad weather) few if any blooms will appear. This is because most hydrangeas only set blooms in the fall and will not set them again in the spring.

However, a few hydrangeas have developed the ability to set new bloom buds in the spring after the old ones have been pruned off or damaged. 'Endless Summer' is just such a hydrangea. This trait is referred to as being "remontant." The flowering period is longer than other types of macrophylla hydrangea. Deadheading spent flowers also encourages new blooms.

Hydrangeas have generally been viewed as an old fashioned plant, but are gaining new interest and now even more so with the introduction of Endless Summer™. As a border shrub, along the fence or around the shady side of the house, Hydrangeas have stood the test of time where other plants have succumbed to fashion or climate - a testament to their remarkable toughness and resilience.

Endless Summer™ Hydrangeas bloom in mid- to late summer, when the flowering shrubs of late spring have long faded. They are aesthetically pleasing in the garden or patio as they display luscious, green growth and may also be used as cut or dried flowers. Endless Summer™ will flourish in a moist well-drained soil in a partly shaded spot in the garden or patio.
