Echinacea - Purple Coneflower
Hardy American native plant. Plains Indians used the roots, leaves and seeds for medicinal purposes. Tall flowering stems grow up to four feet in the late spring with lively purple blossoms. Bronze-colored centers make interesting winter decorations if left on the plant.
Select a location with full sun to part shade. Plant after danger of hard frost in early spring. Keep young plants well watered.
Echineceas are classified as wildflowers. Great for the xeriscape garden!
