Organic Early Wonder Beet
An All-American winner in 1952 and just as popular today! Large lime-green leaves hold well even in the hot summer weather. Cut when young for baby salad leaves or wait a few more weeks for mature size. Lettuce prefers cool weather. Select a location with full sun or part shade in hot areas. Sow in early spring, fall or winter in mild climates. Keep soil evenly moist for best growth. Thin regularly - lettuce does not like to be crowded. Plant a few feet every 2-3 weeks for continuous harvest. Save space by interplanting with other later crops like beans, squash or tomatoes.
