    A Fine Product

The secret to success in feeding hummingbirds is to keep the feeder and it's nectar absolutely clean. Aspects feeders are DESIGNED to be cleaned easily-- and you can see the nectar that the birds are drinking from and actually watch their tongues at work. Start with a 4-oz batch of nectar. Then when the birds clean it up within a few days, increase the batch size. Every part of this feeder says, "High Quality!"

    hummzinger is great

i like how this feeder us set up. It looks slick. Also, it is easy to clean and setup again. The humningbirds found it within the first 2 days. Other birds, which perch right above this feeder, on the metal bar holding the feeder, occasionally leave their droppings on the red part of this feeder, requiring me to clean it more often, however.

    A perfect feeder for hummingbirds

Posted by Michael M. on Mar 31st 2019

What we love so much about a saucer shaped feeder like this one is that no matter what side the hummingbirds land on it to feed we have a clear view of them. There is no bottle in the middle of it blocking our view when they are on the opposite side of the feeder from us. Really you do not need a feeder with a bottle on it. These feeders have enough volume for the three days we go before washing it out and put in fresh solution. Also the four ports on top are enough for most yards. Hummingbirds are VERY territorial and will run off others if they find them at 'their' feeder. So it is rare you will see more than one on it at a time. This feeder is easy to clean, fill and hang up. It has a built in ant moat in the middle that you can add water to.

Hummingbirds love it and the bees don't

Posted by lbrlartist on Sep 16th 2017

In early August, my hummingbird feeders were swarmed with hundreds of honeybees! The poor hummingbirds were not able to feed during the days. Also, I was afraid that either I or my dogs would get stung and it made sitting on the back porch impossible. I didn't want to hurt the bees so I did lots of research - nothing suggested worked. Then, I found these feeders and they solved the problem. I had to gradually change out the feeders as it takes a while for the hummingbirds to accept a new feeder, but once I was left with only this type of feeder, no more bees! The bees can smell the nectar, but cannot access it so they don't hang around. After a couple of weeks, I tried putting out a barrel-type feeder again and had to take it right down as the bees came back immediately. The feeder is easy to clean and easy to hang. The hummingbirds also like the perch all the way around. My dogs and I have our back porch back too.

Great feeder- keeps bees and ants away!!

Posted by PAW on Aug 25th 2016

My current hummingbird feeder was attracting large numbers of bees and ants. So many bees were swarming , I could barely get near the feeder to take it down for cleaning and the bees were chasing the birds away. I read about this particular hummingbird feeder on a hummingbird web site. It has nectar guard tips that prevent bees from getting at the nectar and a moat at the top that drowns the ants before they can get to the openings. After one day, the bees and ants were gone. The birds seemed hesitant at first to use the feeder (the web site stated that birds are suspicious if a new feeder is introduced), but after a few days the birds were back and feeding like crazy. Am thinking of buying another one!!!

I now have three of these!!!

We had a horrible problem with bees on our hummingbird feeders, so I purchased this feeder to see how it works. It is amazing! The bees hung around for a day or two, but they were frustrated that they couldn't get any nectar, so they left! The hummingbirds adapted very quickly, and now it is full of hummingbirds all day long. One thing we did differently: we put the little rubber nibs in for a couple of days to get rid of the bees, but once the bees left, we took the nibs out. It's much easier for the hummingbirds to get the nectar now, and the bees have not come back. I ordered two more feeders once I saw how great they are!

All in all it's a winner

Posted by In the Hills on Jul 23rd 2016

All the things I worried about- like would the hummers go to flowers if they weren't painted yellow, would they take to those new fangled caps on the bottom of the ports (that exclude the bees & ants) etc. and would I end up throwing this feeder away like so many before it due to one reason or another....This hummer feeder works great- the bees and ants haven't touched it- they just can't get to the nectar. The little bottom caps are easily cleaned with the ports and I was surprised how much cleaner everything stays now that it's only the hummers feeding through the ports. The hummers don't seem to care about the flowers being red not yellow.About the only thing I would say is don't fill the container full to the top with sugar water. Fill it about 2/3 full, because sometimes when it's full to the top, you get a little dribble out of a port, especially if you get some wind that tilts it around.Except for that- it's a great feeder and I'm glad I bought 2 of them, the hook is longer and stronger than my old similar style one and the built in ant water cup is deeper on this one (tho I don't use it at all anymore since the port thingies stop them from getting to the nectar). All in all it's a winner.
