Key Product Features

  • PittMoss Performance is proudly produced in the United States from 99.4% recycled paper fibers and small amounts of organic bark. It has a nutrient composition of N (0.24%) P (0.11%) K (0.18%), which helps stimulate biological development.
  • It is fertilized with a custom Controlled Release Fertilizer (CRF) that ensures a steady supply of nutrients to your plants, while also maintaining a pH balance adaptable to the specific requirements of each plant.
  • This soilless growing medium is lightweight and produces less dust than traditional soil mediums. Additionally, it is free from pathogens, weed seeds, heavy metals, and other harmful ingredients.
  • Due to its ability to retain applied resources and evenly distribute them throughout the porous particles to make them more readily available to the plant’s roots, this product requires less water and fertilizer.
  • It serves as the perfect all-purpose, nutrient enhanced potting mix for indoor containers, flower beds, soil improvement, grass seeding, and any other applications where traditional potting mix is typically applied.
  • PittMoss sources all paper ingredients from local recycling facilities, hand sorts each batch to ensure zero contaminants and conducts extensive testing to create a perfect living soil environment.

I will keep using this product and not peat moss.

A great product. Use as directed and plants are doing very good. Root structure is strong. I will keep using this product, no reason to destroy the environment for peat moss or ship peat moss from other countries anymore. ~ Review orginally posted on Amazon

Worked great every way I used it

Upon seeing PittMoss on Shark Tank last year, I immediately signed up to be notified when it was available to the home gardener. Thus, the Spring of 2017 was my first application, and I love the stuff. For my earliest in-house seed-starting, I mixed it 50/50 with a commercial seed starting soil. The seedlings thrived, so I used 100% PittMoss for all my subsequent in-house and greenhouse seed starting, and again, the seedlings were totally happy (about 350 peat pots, total). So, when I transplanted them into my gardens, I mixed a healthy dose of PittMoss into the soil around each one. When it was warm enough to direct-seed outdoors, I covered the soil in my raised beds with 2-3" of PittMoss and mixed it in. Once again, my seeds germinated well and grew into healthy, productive plants. Frankly, I didn't notice a huge difference in water retention in either my peat pots nor open soil, but that didn't disappoint me. In fact, it quells my fears that if we have a wet summer (which we didn't have this year), the PittMoss will rot my plants. This is a great product, and I plan to continue using it every year for all my veggies and flowers. ~ Review orginally posted on Amazon

I am happy with the product as of now

Saw the product on Shark Tank. Before buying this one, I bought a potting mix from Costco. After few days of using the Costco potting mix product for my houseplants, my house was filled with fungus gnats. I had to take an action quickly. Hence I ordered PittMoss from Amazon. Since this product is made from newspapers, I was sure that this product would not have any bugs. I replaced all pot's soil with PittMoss Performance. I am happy with the product as of now. ~ Review orginally posted on Amazon
