Jarranhdale Pumpkin
Pumpkins are lots of fun to grow and even more fun to enjoy, whether they become jack-o-lanterns or delicious pies, breads, etc. Don't forget to bake the seeds for tasty snacks. They are easy to grow and require sufficient space for the vines to spread. Excellent in a child's garden.
When and where to plant
Select a sunny location and sow seed when the soil has warmed. Plants prefer fertile soil For best results, loosen soil with spade or fork, working in vegetable food and organic matter and smooth with rake. Firm soil over seed and keep moist.
Care
Keep soil moist, weed free, and feed monthly. For large fruit pinch off all but 1 or 2 pumpkins per plant.
Harvesting
Cut from vine, leaving 3" of stem when shell is hard.
Health Note
Flesh is rich in Vitamin A and supplies some minerals. Seeds supply proteins, some B Vitamins and minerals.
