Gourmet Mix Lettuce
A specially formulated mix of four delicious, easy-to-grow and widely adapted lettuce varieties. Plants in this gourmet blend produce a range of delicate lettuce flavors and textures; colors including light green, dark green, and red. Because of different maturity times for each variety, harvest begins a few weeks after sowing and extends beyond two months.
When and where to plant
Select a location in full sun or light afternoon shade. Cultivate and fertilize soil with vegetable food. Lettuce is a cool weather crop, so plant in early spring. Repeat at two week intervals as long as weather is cool - spring and fall. For earliest crop, start seeds indoors.
Care
Thin young seedlings, transplanting strongest to other locations. Water lightly and regularly. Protect from pests.
Harvesting
Begin harvesting thinnings when about 2" tall. As remaining plants grow, pull a few outer leaves or harvest entire plant at any size. Butterhead type will develop a firm head about 70 days after sowing.
