Description
Lettuce Black Seeded Simpson
A home garden favorite since 1850. Quickly produces large, loose-leaved heads with light green, crisp leaves. Best grown as a spring or fall/winter variety to avoid bolting.
Planting
Lettuce prefers cool weather. Select a location with full sun, or partial shade in hot areas. Sow in early spring or fall, or in winter in mild climates. Keep soil evenly moist for best growth. Thin regularly. Lettuce does not like to be crowded.
