    Surprisingly solid, unbending spade!

    Posted by All4Espi on Jul 6th 2025

I just wrote a 5 star review about the Radius Garden 203 Pro Stainless Steel Digging Fork, which is, by far, the best digging fork I have ever used. When I ordered it, I also ordered this spade, as the spade I already was clearly not going to hold up to the dense clay-rich soil in the front of our house. I had bought six rose bushes to plant out there, and started to dig the first hole with the old spade, and the wooden handle cracked! It wasn't even a year old! Just as bad, the blade was bending under the strain. I wasn't expecting the Radius Garden spade to be unyielding, but I was wrong. I can put all my weight into it, and it doesn't bend in the slightest, and the soil gives way. The handle didn't bend even the little either. Speaking of which, as I has written about the digging fork, the round handle is surprisingly useful. It is likely better than an extra wide two-hand D-shaped handle because as it allows two hands, it also also allows you some flexibility in the angle you hold it, which is a really nice plus. Likewise, as with the rest of the construction of this tool, the handle is super solid. Worth all five stars, easily!
