Paperwhites

Growing Paperwhites Indoors
Paperwhites are one of the easiest bulbs to grow indoors. These fragrant white flowers can grow and bloom using only water and decorative stones, making them a simple way to add color and scent to your home. Most paperwhites bloom about 4 to 6 weeks after planting.
How to Plant Paperwhites
Start by adding 2 to 4 inches of pebbles or stones to the bottom of a vase or container. Place the bulbs close together with the roots facing down, then add more stones around them to keep the bulbs supported. Leave the tops of the bulbs exposed and add water until it reaches just below the base of the bulbs. Avoid covering the bulbs with water, as this can cause rot.
Rooting and Care
Place the container in a cool room with indirect light, ideally between 55 and 65°F. Keep the roots moist by checking water levels regularly. Once roots begin forming and the bulbs feel anchored, move the container to a sunny location. During active growth, check water frequently since bulbs can dry out quickly.
Supporting Blooms and Extending Color
Paperwhite flowers can become top heavy as they bloom. Use stakes or twine if stems begin to lean. For continuous indoor blooms, plant new bulbs every three to four weeks from fall through early spring.
Paperwhites are typically grown as a one-time indoor bloom. After flowering, bulbs usually do not rebloom indoors and can be discarded or composted.
