Aspects HummZinger Ultra Nectar Bird Feeder with 4 Feeding Ports, 12oz Capacity

This is a very easy to use, really easy to clean bird feeder. I would have given it a 5 start if it would have had some type of flower painted on the top plate where the bird would drink. Birds don't quite know what to do with it since they don't see a flower to use. They fly around and check it out but so far they have stop to feed.I will hand paint some sort of flowers on the top to try and get them to stop by.08/06/2016 UPDATE: Painted flowers on top using the hole as the center, now the birds love it! They perch on the ring and stay for a while until another runs each other off. I will get another one to have 2 for next season, and paint the flowers.

The best humming bird feeder ever made! Easy to clean, repels yellow jackets and honey bees. The birds can perch together and feed at same time. Can't rave enough about this feeder!

Have compared these two styles for past year. Both plastic. PRO's of zinger: right volume (most models are too big for our hummer population & frequency of cleaning) Easy to fill and put together. Best part: no nooks & crannies to hold the mold! Here in So Calif the mold seems tenacious. With classic 32 Bliss I have to use a toothbrush and STILL see spots I miss (after re-hanging it!) in the petal shaped receptacle areas. Perching bar is handy. CONS: small plastic tubes that go on inside of holes get lost easily. Not sure they're essential? Have lost most of them. CONCLUSION: this is the best plastic model in terms of ease use, since keeping up feeders can be a big job---- mine develop mold before day 6-7 so frequent emptying, cleaning, and refilling is a must.

After being disappointed with the complete and utter lack of any bird activity whatsoever with my , I had low hopes for the Hummzinger's ability to likewise attract any hummingbirds. To my surprise, today I found a female Anna's hanging out on branches on the trees on either side of the feeder and, a few minutes later, caught her perched on the Hummzinger and dipping her beak into it. So it does work! See my picture to see her sitting at it :DAs regards the other stuff, the Hummzinger is pretty much as foolproof as they come. It consists of three basic parts, the trough/bowl area, the lid, and the handle. The bottom trough holds 12 ounces of fluid (btw, the enclosed instructions tell you the appropriate mixture in case you aren't already aware) along its outer section. The inner center (think of them as separated like a donut) is separated by a thin plastic wall that holds water as an ant guard (more on that). The top, red part snaps onto the trough to hold it secure and, in this model, has four "flowers" and perches all around the outer edges. The Hummzinger also comes with nectar guards; for lack of a better word they are essentially little plastic nipples with holes in the center that fit on the underside of the flowers so that hummingbirds can still feed, but insects cannot. Finally, the handle has a hook on the top and can be screwed in and out of the center of the trough. Because this is a potential conduit for ants, the ant guard ensures that any ant that crawls down the handle has to go through the ant guard first to get to the outer rim where the "nectar" is...and subsequently drowns.The Hummzinger is super easy to put together and take apart, and is very easy to clean. Even when it is full of liquid it is not very heavy, so it can easily be hung from small tree branches as I have done in my yard. The instruction manual tells you how to put it together, where to place it, how to clean it, how to make nectar, etc. It is as foolproof as they come, and if you want to attract any nearby hummingbirds to your yard, look no further.Note: the instructions that come with the feeder tell you to mix one cup of sugar to four cups of water. Unless you want to store all of that in your fridge, that's way too much. This feeder has a capacity for 12 fluid oz. I typically brew up a mixture of 1/4 cup of sugar to one cup of water, which comes out to 8 fluid oz. by the time it's cool. Keep that in mind when you go to cook up your nectar solution.

After moving to a rural part of Washington state, we found we could no longer use the hummingbird feeder that had worked so well for us in our suburban backyard. The old feeder's holes were large enough to permit yellow jackets (YJs) to climb in and out of the feeder; and the old feeder was ceramic, so we couldn't easily detect if any of the YJs had died and fallen into the sugar solution. Because the YJs were able to feed, their numbers increased daily and they aggressively drove our hummingbirds away from the feeder, and us from our nearby chairs.Our new Aspects 367 Hummzinger Ultra Hummingbird Feeder remedied all these issues. The feeders' holes have small star-shaped guards that spread as the hummingbird pushes its beak through them. Before filling the feeder, we tested each opening with a toothpick to make sure they expanded freely. Within an hour of hanging the new feeder, our hummers had found it and were feeding happily. They never displayed even a slight aversion to the feeder; however, the feeder guards have completely stymied the efforts of the yellow jackets, so much so that they don't even buzz past it. Now, our hummers have the luxury of sitting and feeding for several minutes at a time. The feeder's clear underside also allows us to see the birds' tongues stirring up the sugar water as they drink.We highly recommend this feeder. We've found it to be far and away the easiest hummingbird feeder to clean, fill, hang, and view fluid levels. Our hummingbirds like it (see attached photo of one feeding) and we like what they like.
