Broccoli Calabrese
A tasty heirloom variety first introduced in the U.S. by Italian immigrant. Easy to grow, require minimal care, and packed with nutrients. A good variety for freezing.
Planting
Choose a rich moist soil with plenty of organic matter. Time your plantings to mature while weather is cool; usually late spring or fall. Start indoors 6 weeks before last frost date. Transplant outdoors 2 weeks before last frost. Sow in midsummer for a fall crop or late fall in mild climates.
Note
Feed with compost tea or fertilizer once a month to maintain rapid growth.
