Virginia Sweetspire
Itea virginica
Itea are noted for their fragrant white flower spikes in early summer and beautiful red and burgundy fall foliage.  Leaves are deciduous, but persist well into autumn and sometimes even early winter.  A versatile shrub for many areas in the landscape.  Works well for foundation plantings, borders, and specimen plantings. Native to Pennsylvania.

An autumn classic, and for good reason! Leaves transition to an intense red in fall.  
An excellent low maintenance choice for hedging in full sun - part shade.
