Dont see the prices as short term purchases...

Purdy products...for me....are the best. I still have my 1st brushes when I started in this field 20yrs ago. If you take care of them...they will last.

    Loooooove Purdy

I love purdy brushes! Stop buying anything else. These are nice brushes with a slant for non painters that make you paint like a pro. They dont make lines and clean up easy. I will never buy another brand ever.

    You cannot beat Purdy brushes

For DIY projects around the house, you simply cannot get a better brush than Purdy. I use the 2.5" angle brush to cut in the edges of walls and for trim work. It holds a decent amount of paint and keeps a very clean line. It cleans up nicely and works just as well next time. Purdy is my brush of choice- WELL WORTH THE PREMIUM PRICE.

These brushes made me a good painter!

I have always felt like I am a terrible house painter, and while I am still by no means a professional, the quality of these brushes combined with a top quality paint enabled me to paint an entire room without taping off! The paint clings to the brushes, and for edging the brushes come together to create a nice tight line. With a steady hand, you can do all your cutting in without the annoyance and expense of taping off an entire room. I will not use another brand of brush now.

    Good quality

Even though they are very nice, I think I would go with cheaper ones for my paint, stain, finishing, and varnish applications. This is because Im not a professional and I havent used a brush much before, so I cant tell the difference yet. I have used them for applying polyurethane to some wooden boxes I made and also to apply stains. I think they are too nice to be used for this, unless you clean them perfectly, eventually they will harden.Even so, when I used them the first t8me they felt very smooth. Ive cleaned them with paint thinner and also spirits and turpentine. Then I wash them with soap and run a fork through it a few times to make sure most of the bristles are separated again. Ive used them about 5 times now all three and they have not shedded a single hair.
