Atlantic Giant Pumpkin
This huge variety is frequently a prizewinner at county fairs. Carefully grown, fruits can exceed 200lbs. Fruits are evenly ribbed, medium orange and slightly rough. Fine textured orange flesh is outstanding for pies, cooking, or freezing and the seed make delicious snacks. Perfect for huge jack-o-lanterns.
When and where to plant
Select sunny location and plant in the late weeks before setting out. For best results, loosen soil with spade or fork, working in vegetable food and organic matter, and smooth with rake. Firm soil over seed and keep moist.
Care
For maximum size, feed monthly, keep soil moist, pinch off all but 1 or 2 pumpkin s per vine and leave plenty of space between plants.
Harvest
Cut from vine using pruning shear, leaving 3" of stem.
