The Mayflower set sail 400
years ago and so began an onerous journey for the crew and the passengers, who
hoped to find their happiness and a free world in the distance. We take this
occasion to open our online season and celebrate with two new nutcrackers which
are currently only available exclusively in our web shop. Our nutcracker
Pilgrim Father and Mother are symbols for the first brave pilgrims, who dared
to step into the new world. They landed on the 11th of November and for this
reason we only have 11 nutcrackers of each in stock for this year. The journey
is the reward. In 1621, after reaping their first harvest, the Pilgrims
celebrated the fruits of their labor with fellow Colonists and Native American
friends at a three-day feast. The 16.5-inch pilgrim mother figure is featured
in full pilgrim clothing and wears a white hood with a gray and white
traditional outfit. She holds a woven basket in her hands. Carefully
handcrafted by Steinbach in Germany with great attention to detail.
