It works - and a lot more cost effective than pre-treated seed

Posted by Selective Shopper on Oct 22nd 2017

This really works! I was purchasing seeds that were already coated with hot pepper sauce, but since I have so many birds, it was getting expensive. Thought I would give this a try, and so glad that I did. Just use 3T per 5lbs of seed, per the directions. It doesn't sound like much, but stir the sauce around in a big bowl and it spreads just fine. The squirrels stay clear and the birds are thrilled to not compete with the squirrels. Note. 1 it does not keep the mice away, so I do need to bring the feeder in at night, and 2 the cap is quite fragile so don't try and really tighten it. I wanted to be sure to tighten the cap but no more than any other item like bleach or hydrogen peroxide in case the bottle tipped over, and the cap split and I'm not very strong!

    Great product but expensive

Great product, wish it weren't so expensive. I will continue to buy it though because I haven't found anything comparable for keeping the squirrels out of the feeders. In fact, I haven't seen squirrels in my yard in months!

Works for us! our squirrels were having a party and left nothing for the birdies. We followed package instructions EXACTLY and havn't seen any squirrels since. use gloves and wash everything that touched the sauce with soap and water cuz this thing burns.

    Great product

This stuff is great. We have a family of raccoons in our yard and they are forever knocking down our bird feeders to get to the seed; since we started lacing all our birdseed with Flaming Squirrel the raccoons have gotten the message and now only eat the critter mix food that is specifically for them. We go through the seed a lot more slowly as a result and we know that our local birds have a reliable place to get a good meal!

    Okay, not great.

It works just okay. The squirrels stay away for the first day and get braver over time. Not as effective as I thought it would be. Seems like as long as it is wet, I works great. Once it dries, eh!

The squirrels have been mad at me since I started using this in my birdseed. No more dumped bird feeders due to visits from you-know-who.

I was skeptical about this product and if it would work. IT DOES!! Since I started using it there has been no squirrels and the birds love it.

    Great product.

Holy Moly! This stuff is hot. Wear gloves when mixing into bird seeds and when filling feeder. My birds don't mind the heat, and the squirrels avoid it. Great product.

Lots of Oak trees around us and plenty of acorns for squirrels. Now the squirrels never touch the bird feeders.
