Key Product Features

  • You will receive (1) 2.8 cubic foot bag with your order.
  • This is a great alternative to fully peat-based mixes, allowing growers to reduce their carbon footprint, maintain high yields and grow consistent healthy crops.
  • Proudly produced in the United States and made out of PittMoss fibers, sphagnum peat moss, coarse perlite, dolomitic limestone (pH adjuster) and wetting agent.
  • Requires less water and applied fertilizer due to its ability to retain applied resources, evenly distributing them throughout the porous particles to be more available to the plant’s roots.
  • Ideal for seedlings, pots and planters, hanging baskets, raised beds and anywhere else you would use traditional potting mix.
  • PittMoss sources all paper ingredients from local recycling facilities, hand sorts each batch to ensure zero contaminants and conducts extensive testing to create a perfect living soil environment.

PittMoss Customblend PM1 is a general purpose growing medium, suitable for greenhouse planting and applications. It contains a blend of sphagnum peat moss, perlite and PittMoss, made from engineered organic cellulosic fibers, including recycled newspaper. PittMoss contains no pathogens, weed seeds or other heavy metals and harmful ingredients. This all purpose potting mix is ideal for seedlings, pots, planters, hanging baskets, raised beds and anywhere else you would use traditional potting mix. By using PittMoss instead of traditional peat moss, gardeners can reduce greenhouse gas emissions associated with peat bog mining, and it offers a cleaner, more consistent soil option with rigorous testing to ensure optimal performance.
