Roquette Arugula
A member of the mustard family, Roquette is a sturdy leafy vegetable that is cold tolerant. Pointed, lance-shaped leaves have a strong aroma and a peppery flavor. Roquette is used in salads and sauces or may be steamed as a vegetable.
When and where to plant
Sow seeds in thick rows of moist, rich soil. A light shade garden area is best. Spring plantings are the msot desireable - avoid summer plantings.
Care
Keep well drained. Keep soil weed free and moist, but not soggy.
Harvesting
Tender leaves are ready for harvesting in six to eight weeks or entire plants may be cut 2-3" above the soil line (leave center leave buds for additional growth).
