Good Lights with some Cool Features - But, pricey
I bought these lights to replace my current icicles on the house for Christmas. I wanted to have some flexibility with colors and such. And, I wanted to make sure the LEDs could do warm white as well. Hence, I bought the Special Edition set. The ones I had before were just the standard warm white ones for box store.The kit is 190 LEDs and strand is about 16ft long (of lighted length). Of course, my house needed 42ft to cover my front. So, I had to buy 3. Which for $100 for each set is borderline overpriced.The lights were easy to setup. I used a iPhone (iOS). I connected them to my wifi and a timer that I have for my lights outside. Yes, the app does have it;'s own timer for turning on and off the lights. But, since i have my power outlets for my Christmas lights all tied together, I didn't use the apps built in timer. Even though the power was turned off every night on my timer, these lights remember the last setting. And work light the night before. Which is great. Keep in mind, that you can't daisy chain the power for these. You need to connect each to power source directly.The app starts off by guiding you to use the mapping feature for the lights. Basically, you can point your phone to lights and it records position of lights by going through a series of on/off attempts for the LEDs. For my icicles, I didn't do the mapping part as I just group them to together in the app and controlled them as one giant set. There are couple of different ways it allows you to group the lights.You can select from a bunch of different preprogramed light patterns. You can also create your own custom ones. But, what i can couldn't do was use a playlist (where it cycles through different light patterns) when grouped. That was a real bummer. I wanted to be able to setup 3 or 4 different pattern sets and let them cycle through. I was forced to manually change them. So, i changed it each night via the app. I assume it was just a bug in the app since that is major feature miss if not. (by the way, when not grouped, you can do this). Also, you can operate the lights without the app as well. The controller has a button on them and you can simply use the button to cycle through preprogrammed light patterns. This is nice if want to use them as traditional lights and not worried about the app.Issues:1. Wifi - worked pretty well. i did have one issue where when I added my 3rd set, it messed up and just wouldn't connect the lights. And, disrupeted the 1 and 2nd sets i had up already. Not sure if it was the app or the lights controllers interfering with each other. I ended up removing the all 3 icicles sets and starting fresh again. Then they all worked.2. Firmware - Yes, the controllers have firmware. It fought me a few times trying to update them. But, I would power cycle them and try again (after failing...not during)3. App - Not being able to use Playlist in group mode was annoying to me. The app was fairly stable. Sometimes apply the setting to light for patterns would give an error. But, that was like 1 out of 20 times. So, not horrible.Overall, I like the lights. Hopefully the playlist item I mentioned above is a bug. I'll contact them to see. Also, i think the prices for the lights have since gone up. Again, I think $100 for only 16ft of LED lights is pricey. So, if they are now selling for more, then are simply overpriced.

Best Christmas lights!
LOVE these lights! They are a bit pricy, but amazing looking! Initial up was simple, too! Mapping and options for customization could use some improvement, but overall the best Christmas lighting I've ever had!

Best lights ever
It took awhile to sync in to my WiFi but it worked. Recommend to use home WiFi if you have multiple sets of lights to sync together. Your WiFi must have a strong signal if you installing outdoors. Recommend get a WiFi extender if you know your signal is weak or will not reach. Also, recommend to update the Twinkly lights firmware before you try to decide to link/sync your light sets together.

Very to setup and install. The only thing I wish it worked with Apple HomeKit.
