    Gardening without being there

Sturdy container to grow plants in and protect them during the season. I needed something I could walk away from for a week. This works.

Octopot is a much better choice

Posted by Richard Frazier on Feb 6th 2021

I purchased an earth box and an Octopot to see which one would be better. No contest. You can't tell where your water level is with the earth box while the Octopot unit has a visible depth gauge. And comparing the plant growth I think the O to pot again Win's hands down. I contest. Sorry earth box.

    Missing mulch covers

Posted by Rocky Bevevino on Feb 5th 2021

Ordered this earthbox specifically because of the mulch covers. For beautiful bokashi blooms and mycelium. Package arrives and there are no mulch covers

Really disappointed they didn't include the bokashi, soil, and EM-1 like they did when I ordered directly from Earthbox.

The best for a porch gardnen

Posted by AC on Dec 6th 2020

These Earth boxes are the best for a porch or patio garden. You can't over water your plants and if fertilized by the direction you will be able to raise great fresh veggies. I've found raising large plants is tricky and one plant can dominate an entire box and requires a lot of water in summer to produce. Growing radishes, lettace, herbs, and smaller plants is VERY easy to be sure. I have about 10 of these boxes of different sizes, never disappointed. Recommend getting stands for them if you don't want to bend over.

    No green thumb required

Posted by Jody Magee on Oct 25th 2020

These planters are great and practically idiot proof. I'm sure there are plants that might not thrive in this planter but the design prevents either over or under watering your plants. This is the third planter we've purchased. Great for tomatoes or flowers. I'm sure the list of the kinds of plants you could grow in this planter is endless.

    Peppers, peppers, peppers

Posted by David Aleshire on Oct 22nd 2020

I love these things. I have four of them now, and they do make gardening easier. This past summer I grew Jalapeño peppers, Shishito peppers, Habanadas, and Peach Ahi peppers, and the plants were strong, lush, and full. Watering is easy and you'll save on water without having to water an entire garden. I've grown tomatoes in the past, as well as squash and pumpkins. Should you decided to try one of these you will still need to select a good sunny spot for your plants, and you may want to rig up a trellis for tomato plants as they tend to get big and heavy.

    Great Purchase

Posted by Wayne King on Oct 15th 2020

I have been looking for a garden planter for several months and, when I discovered the EarthBox, I was sure that it would be perfect. And it was - I cannot wait till spring when I do my planting. The planter is a great size and the castors allow easy movement. I bought a second one with the stand and it too is fabulous. As I grow older (now 72), mobility is more and more of a concern and these boxes are great. I also like the self- watering aspect as that allows more regulated water supply for the plants. All in all another great purchase.
