Description

Grow bigger, stronger plants with PittMoss Plentiful!

Key Product Features

  • PittMoss Plentiful is proudly produced in the United States from 99% recycled paper fibers and small amounts of organic bark that is enriched with poultry manure, bovine compost inoculates and feather meal.
  • It has a nutrient composition of N (0.176%) P (0.100%) K (0.024%), which helps improve soil environments and maintain a pH balance that is adaptable to meet the specific requirements of each plant.
  • This product is OMRI-listed for organic growing and features less dust than traditional soil mediums with no pathogens, bugs, weed seeds, heavy metals and other harmful ingredients.
  • Due to its ability to retain applied resources and evenly distribute them throughout the porous particles to make them more readily available to the plant’s roots, this product can reduce water usage by two-thirds.
  • It serves as the perfect all-purpose potting mix for raised beds, vegetable gardening, potted plants, seedlings, mulching and any other applications where traditional potting mix is typically applied.
  • PittMoss sources all paper ingredients from local recycling facilities, hand sorts each batch to ensure zero contaminants and conducts extensive testing to create a perfect living soil environment.

PittMoss Plentiful is a peat-free, OMRI-listed, organic potting mix with no pathogens, weed seeds or other heavy metals and harmful ingredients. It is uniquely crafted from recycled cellulosic fibers and small amounts of organic bark ingredients fortified with poultry manure, bovine compost inoculates and feather meal. This soil contains high amounts of readily available carbon, ideal for creating a living soil environment that is chock-full of soil biology. It enables a pH balance that readily adapts to meet the specific needs of plants, promoting robust root growth. By using PittMoss, gardeners can reduce greenhouse gas emissions associated with peat bog mining, and it offers a cleaner, more consistent soil option with rigorous testing to ensure optimal performance.

    This product delivers

As a member of the Joe Gardener Gardening Academy, there has been a lot of buzz in the last year about Pittmoss. 2022 I'd already had my plan in place, but for 2023, I got on board. The early returns are above expectation. I up potted a number of starts in a mix 50/50 with Pittmoss and ProMix BX, and started my tomato seedlings in a similar mix. Everything looks great and I'm impressed with the water retention properties and root growth. Pretty sure I'll be a repeat customer. I'm promoting the product within our group as a winner.

    Perfect peat moss replacement

Posted by Erica F on Nov 15th 2022

I use plentiful to replace peat moss in the potting soil/seed starting mix I've been using for years. It's a perfect one to one replacement with the same or even better performance, and no peat!

Easy to use, light, and keeps the garden clean while holding in moisture.

So excited for a great alternative to peat moss mixes!

Posted by Lisa B on Jul 13th 2022

I am thrilled with your product. I learned of it from the Joe Gardener podcast and ordered it right away. I have been using it for transplants and I'm about to use it to start some seeds. I have no doubt that I'll be thrilled to use it for seed starting as well!

    Finally a sustainable alternative.

So far I’ve only used to repot houseplants and it works as advertised. My only complaint is that it isn’t sold in a store in my town.

This stuff rocks. I've been growing everything from seeds for 15 years, and I can't remember seedlings coming up this quickly or growing more vigorously. You may not know it yet, but you need this stuff.

So far so good I used this medium as an alternative looking for peat moss. I just purchased the green stalk vertical planters and I must say in combination of the HP PLUS, THE PITMOSS ORGANICS, AND HAPPY FROG OCEAN FOREST MY PLANTS HAVE BEEN DOING AMAZING!!! I ordered one than had to order another part of me think I mayb using to much but I just ordered another 2 bags my ammendeong was 21c if the Hp + 10c of the pitmoss + 5 cups of the ocean I will experiment with using less to see if theres a difference. I'm very grateful for this product wish they made bigger bags and or could he found in markets

    Loved it!

I already have a very good seed starting mix I like, but ordered this to test out how well it works after hearing about it on the Joe Gardener podcast in an effort to move away from peat. It outperformed my preferred peat-based mix and I plan to use it this spring!

    Love the Plentiful!

Posted by Mary M on May 5th 2022

Really love the Plentiful! Using to start tomato seedlings, and was a little worried at first when they did not germinate as quickly as I was expecting. Was lucky enough to listen to Dr. Bethke give a talk and answer questions in a JoeGardener class. Followed his advice on water management and let the seedlings' pots dry out a bit - within a few days all the seedlings started popping up!! The little tomato plants are taking off (already 2-3in tall), sturdy with good color - YAY! Thank You for making such a great product!
