    A Real Winner!

Posted by Judith Filangeri on Feb 8th 2017

I've had 2 of these for several months. The hummingbirds love 'em and so do I. For the first time, I've seen more than 1 bird at a time on the feeder. And they are a positive joy to clean. The top lifts off and the well is totally accessible, none of the fishing around with a bottle brush. I was a little concerned that the wind here in Las Vegas would be a bit much for the rod hanger but we've had our usual gale force spring winds and...not a problem. The ant guard seems to work well also. I will be ordering at least one more.

Pretty good but my birds don't prefer this style.

Posted by Sarie on Jan 25th 2017

I have this and a more classic style feeder (the pinch-waisted clear bottle with the red flowers at the bottom) both on my patio. After experimenting a bit with swapping their positions, I've determined that the hummers prefer the other style. They will drink from this one but it's not their favorite.Other than bird preference, it's fine. It's very easy to clean (easier than the other style). Though the directions don't say to do this, I've run it through the dishwasher with no issues (using only an eco-friendly, unscented detergent). And I really like that you can see the hummingbird tongues dipping into the nectar - so cute. One thing I'm not sure about is if they could still access the nectar once the level gets near empty. It's true that hummingbirds have really long tongues but I'm not sure how long? Just in case I try to keep it at least halfway full at all times.FWIW - my hummingbirds are mostly Annas, with the occasional Rufous. Also note - the top doesn't really snap in place and just sort of rests there like a lid. So far it's not really a problem, but was not quite what I expected.

    Beautiful little bird feeder

Posted by Heather on Dec 17th 2016

Beautiful little bird feeder. Everyone who has humming birds should own one of these! Ingenious design. Brilliant style and function and so easy. I know that without this little feeder many little ones would not have survived our harsh Vancouver cold snap this winter. Remember to feed your birds! This will make it so easy! We're putting out a second one tomorrow and were so happy we chose to gift so many friends with this little darling of a feeder this year! Make super gifts for Mother's Day. Birthday's or whatever!

    Just right!

This feeder is the ideal size for the small number of Hummingbirds that we get. No wasted nectar. The birds seem to love it and we haven't had any problems with bees like we did with the feeders that have the yellow centers..

Wonderful feeder, perfect design for lots of hummingbirds!

Posted by sluggirl on Nov 11th 2016

I live in an apartment with a tiny concrete patio, and I really wanted to bring nature closer to me. After a lot of research I chose this hummingbird feeder, and I am so happy I did! There are a lot of prettier feeders out there, but this allows multiple hummers to feed at once (when they aren't chasing one another away and being selfish ;-) It also makes it easy to see the hummers due to the flat top. Since they have footholds, they will often stay on the feeder and drink for quite a long time. It's cool that the bottom is clear -- you can actually see the nectar "riffle" from the tiny little hummer tongues hitting the fluid. I've watched them stay at the feeder for several minutes each, drinking, then seeming to "taste" the air with their tongues, then drinking more... And it is fun to see them buzzing around and being territorial, too -- I never knew I'd have this much joy just from looking out my window, watching these little birds!

    Too Big and Wasteful

Posted by D. Likely on Oct 10th 2016

Would have given it five stars as I did the 8 ounce feeder, but 16 oz. is too much to put out before the sugar water needs to be changed, Even with a larger feeder and more ports the hummers won't share the space so I much prefer the 8 oz. feeder.

    Happy HummZinging Humminbirds in Texas

Posted by marie on Sep 25th 2016

Over all, I am very pleased with these feeders. I had purchased some from Audubon which filled with rain so I have to keep them under the cover of the porch. The Aspects feeders were put to the rain test the first day I got them and they did great! The raised flowers kept the rain out so much better. I read were someone was having issues with flies, but fortunately, I have not had that problem. With the built in ant mote, ants stay off and bees can not get into these feeders so the birds do not have to fight to feed. The birds love them. I have 17 feeders out of various kinds and the birds took right to these. I had one that did not hang level causing the food to drain toward on side but found hanging a fishing weight as a counterbalance from one of the perches fixed this issue. Over all, I like these feeders and will probably be purchasing more next season.

If you don't have an ant problem--it's a great hummingbird

Posted by bobnaples on Sep 16th 2016

NOT ANT PROOF! While the feeder keeps bees away--it is not ant proof-Antsjust walk down the hanger and stretch across the too small water well and then run all over the feeder and into the ports. If you don't have an ant problem--it's a great hummingbird feeder

    Hands down best hummingbird feeder

    Posted by bobert42 on Sep 13th 2016

Hands down the best hummingbird feeder. I've tried them all! It is super easy to clean with only 2 parts (not counting the hook). There are no little spots that are hard to clean. We got the Mini Nylon Brush set to clean the holes with. The hummingbirds like it too. My only wish would be to have a larger ant moat, as it dries out in one day in our Texas summers. Make sure to only feeder your hummingbirds homemade sugar water and to clean it at least 2x a week in the summers!
