Our new feeder is a popular stop for the Hummers flying south

Posted by Jeffrey Roberts on Sep 9th 2016

We needed a second feeder, and after using it for a few weeks I think it's much better than the "jar on top" feeders. It does not leak, and has a built-in Ant Moat that, as you might guess, keeps ants out. It's easy to assemble and clean, and is lightweight. You can hang it, like I did, or mount it in the ground with a dowel (not included) The Hummers found it very quickly and we have been enjoying watching many more as they stop by our feeder on their way south. We will be buying a few more of these for next year!

    No more bees.

Posted by Abby Normal on Sep 4th 2016

Goodbye, bees. Thanks to a hive in the field next to our home, our previous attempts at hummingbird feeding were thwarted by swarms of bees covering the feeder. Love the bees but don't want them running off the humming birds. This feeder works. It's easy to fill and easy to clean. Bees can't reach the liquid. They tried for a few days but finally gave up. The ant moat works as advertised. Completely satisfied.

    It works!

Posted by Y. Vroman on Aug 26th 2016

I was very skeptical about this being bee proof when it arrived. It looked very similar to the one I already had that the bees kept drowning in. However, it works! I've had it up for over a week and not one bee has invaded it. Love that the nectar recipe is printed on the lid.

Love this feeder and intend to buy more!

I get vast glee out of watching the wasps vainly try to get the nectar! I had a traditional feeder hung on my porch and was getting zero hummingbirds and a horde of wasps. Then I bought this feeder and now I have a whole group of hummingbirds frequenting my porch from sunup to sundown. The wasps have 99.9% given up. Most of my hummingbird guests prefer to use the perch on this feeder, which I find interesting since with my past feeders they always hovered. Best of all is how EASY this is to clean!! You don't have to worry about growing mold or trying to dig into little cracks to remove gunk. This feeder is absolutely worth every penny.

    Good at keeping out bees

Posted by Joyce on Aug 5th 2016

At first my hummingbirds did not seem to like this feeder, but now I have three of them. The other feeders were taken over by honeybees, so the hummingbirds needed feeders that would not be bothered by the bees, and this fits the bill. Occasionally I will see a bee on this feeder, trying to get down inside the hole, but for the most part they leave it alone. Small insects such as flies can fit in the holes so sometimes I'll find them floating in the sugar water. The feeder also stays stable during high winds without dumping out the water, unlike other feeders. The reason I only gave the feeder 4 stars is because it's slightly difficult to clean, but overall I do recommend it.

    Bee problem solved!

Posted by Designer Mom on Aug 4th 2016

This feeder solved our bee problem and it's in use all day by our hummies. The old glass jar style feeder was more of a bee feeder than a humming bird feeder. The bees swarmed after the humming birds driving them away. This one is pretty good at keeping the ants and bees away if we're careful about not overfilling it and keeping the water moat filled. It holds a lot of nectar, more than the birds will drink in a few days. I drilled a small hole in the center of a cheap plastic plate and pushed the metal hanger through it to create a canopy, which has been a big help in 100 degree weather.

This little hummingbird feeder is GREAT! It's super easy to refill and clean

Posted by Michelle Reeves on Jul 25th 2016

This little hummingbird feeder is GREAT! It's super easy to refill and clean, has an ant moat (because they will swarm once you fill it) and allows for multiple birds to feed at once. (If you don't have a possessive male client like we do that is!) We live in CA and have hummingbirds going to and from this all day. (We also bought the window feeder that they seem to like, but this one is the most popular.)If you are new to feeding hummingbirds like we were my advice would be to be patient. We hung this and a regular birdfeeder the same day. We had birds on the larger feeder within 24 hours, it took close to 3 weeks for the hummingbirds to come to this one. But now they fly in and out constantly. So don't give up if you don't seem the right away, they'll find it!

lots of birds on mine and super easy to clean and prevent ants in

Posted by Happy Gal on Jul 18th 2016

I would give this a 5 star, but it should come with the Aspects 384 Nectar Guard Tips ...Tired of attracting yellow jackets. Especially since I am allergic to bees. Come on, Aspects, get real, include the bee guards and charge a little more. Your feeders rock, lots of birds on mine and super easy to clean and prevent ants in.

Of all the styles of hummingbird feeders that I have ...

Posted by Customer on May 28th 2016

Of all the styles of hummingbird feeders that I have, the Hummzinger is the easiest to empty, clean, and fill. The hummingbirds both hover and perch to feed from it. Lynn Wells
